Weekend Break to Blackpool

A couple of weekends ago, the four of us (my Mum, Dad and brother) travelled up to Blackpool to see the illuminations as me and my brother had never seen them before.

On Friday after school, we set off and arrived later than expected due to traffic along the way. We checked in to the hotel, quickly decided who was having which bed and began the walk onto the promenade. It was then decided that we were going to take the tram so we could see all of the lights in time and my Dad could have a break as he had been driving whilst we had all fallen asleep at some point along the way.

The following day was all to do with seeing what we could before we were heading home. We had a quick look at the pleasure beach, walked along the sea front, took a few photos and made our way towards the tower. The tower was something I wanted to do and be able to stand on the glass flooring as well as see the whole of the promenade from the highest point. On the way back to the hotel, we stopped off for chips (had to be done) and picked up rock (something else which has to be done when you’re by the sea).

Have you been to Blackpool? Have you seen the illuminations?

NCS Graduation

If you read my blog back in July, you will known that I was a participant on the NCS program. On Wednesday 7th October, it was my graduation evening so I was able to go and see all the people who were in my team, people on my wave as well as people from wave 2 and 3. I’d really recommend doing the summer course it if you’re 15-17. I won’t go into detail as I’ve done a week-by-week update so go and have a read of those to see what I got up to.

The dress code for the evening was Hollywood Glamour so you had to make a little more effort in order to fit the code. Our venue was at Center Parcs in Sherwood as it is a central location for everyone to get to. Once you got to the venue, there were tables all numbered across the whole room and you were allocated different tables depending on the size of your group. I decided to sit with the girls who I have become close friends with as all the other members in our group had already decided where they were sitting. The hot buffet was opened once everyone had found their seat whilst team leaders were making their way around the room.

Next was the presentation where people from your team were asked to do a speech on your time during the course. We were then presented with our certificates and had a group photograph taken. This took longer than expected as the speeches were fairly lengthy.

Once this had all finished, you could have a chat with everyone who was there and say goodbye as the program was all done with. We were able to collect our packs with our information in about the opportunities for graduates.

Have you heard about NCS? Have you taken part or thought about it?

Thanks for reading and I hope you enjoyed

Simple Spotless Skin Range

I struggle quite a bit when it comes to my skin and spots. It can go from begin perfectly fine, to be red, to having a few spots and then really red and nasty. I get really conscious about it and feel as if people are constantly staring at my skin/spots. Around that time of the month, I have a massive break out and really struggle to try and ignore them.

As I have sensitive skin, I find that certain products can cause my skin to react and make matters worse. Due to this, I've found that simple products are perfectly fine and help to improve the appearance of my skin and help reduce my outbreaks. I noticed that simple have a Spotless Skin range so thought that I would give it a try to see if it helped.

The first is the Simple Spotless Skin Triple Action Face Wash. It has small exfoliating beads which help to remove the dead skin cells and help to improve the appearance of the skin. However, it claims to have results from day 1 which I couldn't see so was a little disappointed with this. I like this face wash due to the exfoliating properties but it does leave your face a little tight as it removes all of the moisture out of your skin.

Next is the Simple Spotless Skin Anti-Blemish Moisturiser. I didn't see any amazing results from this yet it claims to have results from day 1 like the face wash which I couldn't see either. I wouldn't bother buying this again as I can't tell a difference from a normal moisturiser and this one.

Finally, I got the Simple Spotless Skin Rapid Action Spot Zapper. What a pathetic product?! This literally did nothing to my skin but I continued to use just in case I could see a difference. The 4 hour results claim is a load of rubbish and I will definitely be leaving this on the shelf next time.

Do you suffer with problem skin?   What do you use?    Have you tried any of these produce yourself?

Prairie Charms Luau Party Box Review

If you follow me on Twitter, you would have seen that I am part of the Prairie Charms Pizzaz Blogging Club. They contacted me about 4 months ago via Twitter and asked me if I wanted to be a part of  it. Of course I said yes as who wouldn't? There were many tweets, direct messages and email sent back and forth making sure all my details were correct etc. My box finally arrived at the start of last month (September) and I have to say that I wasn't disappointed! I had received the Luau Party box which had an Hawaiian/tropical theme throughout the box.

To start with my box came with flamingo tape surrounding it which made me even more excited to open it and find out what I had been waiting for. As I opened the box, my gifts were wrapped in a pink tissue paper which I thought was a nice touch and made you even more excited to open it as you still couldn't see what was inside. Once I'd unsealed the sticker holding the tissue paper together, I was shocked at how much was inside. There were hair bands, treats, pieces from Prairie Charms themselves but my favourite has to be my floral lei head piece. The colours are just so pretty!

The boxes are so affordable for the amount that you get and I love the idea that you don't know what you are going to get but all you know is the general theme to each box.

I'd just like to say a massive thank you to Prairie Charms for giving me this opportunity and for their patience. I'd really recommend checking their website and seeing all the lovely products they have to offer and if you are a blogger, contact them about being part of the blogging club.

Thanks for reading and I hope you enjoyed,
