Wales 2017 Travel Diary

The majority of this week has been spent in Wales on a family holiday. Whilst there, we met up with friends and celebrated my brother birthday too. We chose to stay on a Haven site as there was more to do there than in a hotel for the week.

Cut a long story short, we all had a lovely time and made some funny memories. I won't ramble on about the boring stuff... I'll leave you with some photos to give you an idea of what I have been up to.

Have you ever been to Wales? If so, where?

Thanks for reading and I hope you enjoyed

St Moriz Fake Tan and Routine

Everyone feels better with a tan, right? It is only in the past few years that I have actually fake tanned. (Aside from the gradual tanning lotions... Yes, I'm talking about Dove Summer Glow!)

There are so many different brands out there that claim to do different things to your skin. It may add a shimmer, glow or last longer than others. But, at the end of the day, you still get a tan from a bottle without having to leave the house.

It was around this time 2 years ago that I properly wanted to tan in time for Prom. I didn't have a holiday planned in the run up so the only way I could do it was if it was fake. I'd heard of the St Tropez than and heard amazing things about the brand. The only thing that was putting me off was the price tag. As I had never tanned before, I didn't know what to expect. I was going to do a trail but still didn't want to spend quite a lot of money on something for me not to like it. My Mum was told by a friend to try the the St Moriz tan. There is a bit of a difference in spending £20 per bottle compared to £3 per bottle.

Cut a long story short, I used the St Moriz Self Tan Mist Instant - Medium for prom and had so many compliments on how natural and glowy it looked. I love this tan and can't rave about it enough if you want to get into tanning but without the price tag. The only problem is that I have to wait 5-6 hours for it to develop so it isn't a quick tan if you plan of going somewhere at night last minute.

However, I found a tan that develops a little quicker, and you are in control. It is the St Moriz Pro Fast Self Tan Foam. This gives an indicator on the bottle and depending in how dark you want to go, depends how long you leave it on for. I have to admit, I am reaching for this over the other one purely because I can wash it off after 4 hours and have a decent looking tan without having to wait for ages.

I apply a light moisturiser about 30 mins before I apply the tan to help it soak in and prevent dark patches where there is dry skin. Both tans are applied with an applicator mitt which blends out the tan evenly and helps buff it into my skin easier. I then wash it off after the allocated time with water and pat dry my skin to prevent rubbing it off. I usually apply it every 2 weeks to give myself a break and allow the tan to fade and have a fresh base for the following time.

I highly recommend this product and will continue to use it each and every time I tan.

Have you used fake tan? What brand do you use?

Hair Care Routine

I have always been a bit boring when it comes to hair care. I used any old shampoo and conditioner and used an oil to nourish my hair, but that was pretty much it. I had never died my hair or had a treatemt such as perm so it was in pretty good condition anyway so didn't need much maintenance.

Nothing much has changed apart from the fact I now use a coconut based shampoo and conditioner from Alberto Balsam as I have a slight obsession with coconut scents and has a nourishing quality. I have my hair ombréd blonde so my hair is much drier than it was. Before going in the shower, I use the OGX coconut hair oil which helps to condition my hair before washing and give it the oil that it needs. Once I am out of the shower, I towel dry my hair and run a mixture of both the OGX oil with the John Frieda Hair Elixir which helps me to brush through my hair easier and leaves it really glossy, shiny and healthy looking.

In order to style it, I will often plait my hair when it it a little damp to give waves that last a few days and means that I do not have to use heat everyday on my hair. The other option is to straighten my hair and will do this everyday to remove and if the slight frizz and bobble marks that may be in my hair.

Are there any key products that you couldnt be without for you hair?

Victoria Secret: Spray Collection

First of all, I would like to apologise for those of you that have been visiting but haven't had a post to read for the past 4 weeks. I have been busy with college, exam prep and then the actual exam but everything is all complete now so I have time to write and upload again.

I'm sure you have seen the 'What Instagram Made Me Buy' trend that has been going round. One thing that Instagram made me buy was the Victoria Secret body mists and sprays. It started with the fragrance mists in: Coconut Passion (250ml) and Pure Seduction (250ml). I then saw the smaller mists that are the same scents as the perfumes. These are much more handbag friendly (75ml) so over 2 visits I picked up 2 of the Scandalous mists and an Intense mist. I then bought a rollerball in the scent Scandalous Dare (7ml).

I love all of the scents and wear them on a regular basis. I am usually wearing the body mists in Scandalous and Intense the most as it is normally in my bag or at the front of my perfumes. I would highly recommend buying them as the scent lasts for a decent amount of time.

Despite it being an Instagram influence purchase, I am so glad I fell for it but the problem now it knowing when enough is enough and resisting the temptation to buy more scents.

Happy Easter 2017!

I hope you all have a lovely Easter Sunday with your family. Even if you aren't religious (like me), it is always a great time to see and spend time with family. A great way to spend some quality time could involve a bit of baking, games or if you're feeling a bit of a big kid, maybe even an Easter egg hunt.

I might make some Easter nests with cornflakes, chocolate and some mini eggs as a little treat. The great thing about these is that they are quick and can even be made gluten free using gluten free cornflakes. This means that a certain someone doesn't have to miss out.

Happy Easter 2017!

Victoria Secret Velvet Matte Cream Lip Stain

I'm sure near enough every girl has one of the Victoria Secret Body Mists. When I saw the makeup bits they had, I had to try the lip creams. Many people at the moment are loving matte lip look but I find that some can be really drying on my lips and hate the feeling.

However, with the VS ones, they are velvet so do not dry your lips out but still sort of look matte. I find this much better as they last longer than a normal lipstick but aren't drying like completely matte liquid lipsticks.

Another bonus is that the VS ones are also a stain so wear evenly on the lips. This allows you to add a  lip balm when the lip cream has worn off and still look as if you have something more pigmented. The lip creams are really pigmented and easy to apply. I have the shades Desire (Red), Tempting (Coral) and Adored (Light Nude Pink).

I would highly recommend these lip products!

Have you tried anything from the Victoria Secret Beauty Line?

Happy Mother's Day!

If you live in the UK, you will know that today is Mother's Day. A day to celebrate and thank Mum's for everything that they do for us. If you haven't already got your Mum something, consider this as a prompt and go now. (Flowers and a card always go down a treat!)

I really appreciate everything that my Mum does for me and can't thank her enough for always being there for me. She will always put me and my brother before anything and will always be there to support us both.

I just want to say, Happy Mother's Day to all those Mum's out there, you're amazing and thanks for everything that you do for us!

Thanks for reading and I hope you enjoyed,

MAC Amber X9 Palette

Sorry about the lack of posts recently, I have been fairly busy with college work and that has taken priority obviously. However, I wanted to still try and be frequent with my posts so have upload this week.

I was bought this palette as a Christmas present of a family friend. I love the idea that you get a variety of different nude shades within the palette and it is small enough to fit in the palm of your hand. As it says, you get 9 shades which are both matte and shimmer so have a good variety and it handy if you are travelling as they are all together and comes in a sturdy plastic case. The only thing that annoys me with MAC eyeshadows is that fact they take a while to get a good pay off in colour. It seems as the top of the shadow has a protective layer within the shadow. But once they have been used a couple of times, they are fine. (The pay off isn't as good as Makeup Geek shadows and they are cheaper than MAC!)

I have been using the top right (pinkish) shade all over my lid and the middle right shade (light brown) in the crease to create a neutral matte eye look. It isn't obvious I have eyeshadow on but can tell a little if you know what I mean?

However, this is a great palette for starting out in makeup and want to experiment a little  but still keeping with the nude/neutral look so it isn't too intense. It is £25 and the shadows are smaller than the individual pans so something the think about.

Again, sorry about the lack of posts recently, everything will be back to normal!

Thanks for reading and I hope you enjoyed,

3 Tips to Help with Coursework Deadlines/Stress

For the past few weeks, all I have been hearing about is deadlines. College have been onto all classes with deadlines and trying to get work completed before the big exam season starts. I usually stress so much over deadlines and then because I'm stressing, it takes me 3X longer to get the work done because I'm worrying about it not being completed. I then end up getting distracted because I'm worrying. (You can see my dilemma!) Over the past few weeks I have been trying a few different things to try and help.

1. Make a List
I have started writing all of the tasks down on a piece of paper. One tip I would suggest is going through all of the work that needs doing and write it simply on paper so you can clearly see everything in one place.

2. Separate the Tasks
This leads me on to my next point.Try separating it by a unit for coursework or if you have more work, write it in course order. For example, it could be Unit 1 and Task 1, 2, 3 and 4 or Business Tasks 1-5 and IT Tasks 1-7.

3. Be Realistic
I always think I can do more than is actually realistic. Fun fact: Only a few of my task are completed on my long list. I have started to prioritise the tasks that need to be completed first. I only set myself a few tasks to do and then if I complete any more, it's a bonus. If I don't complete all of the work, I try not to worry and work harder the following day. The more you beat yourself up about not doing it, the worse it is. Be proud that you have actually achieved and accomplished something rather than not doing all of what you planned.

I hope these tips help you to stay a little less stressed.

Have you got any tips when completing work/tasks?

Real Techniques Miracle Complexion Sponge

I started using the Beauty Blender around 2 years ago and couldn't believe the difference it made with my makeup. The application was much less streaky compared with using a brush and the overall look of my foundation was much better.

I was treated to the Zoeva Rose Gold brushes for my birthday last year and my Beauty Blender took a back seat. I was starting to hate the way my makeup looked as it just seemed to look really thick and cakey yet I wasn't doing anything different than I normally was.

I was in Boots and noticed that the Real Techniques Miracle Complexion Sponge was on offer and thought that I should try it and see what the difference was between the Beauty Blender and the Real Techniques sponge.

I really like the beauty blender as the tapered end fits well and the bottom of the sponge helps to blend more product such as foundation. However, at £16 it can be expensive to keep replacing!

The Real Techniques sponge has the tapered end to blend things like concealer, a flat side to help push the foundation into your skin and give a really flawless finish as well as the curved side to blend even more product. This sponge is under £6 and you can get a really good deal when they are on offer and also come in different pack sizes.

I think I would say I'm more of a Real Techniques person rather than Beauty Blender!

He you tried any of these makeup sponges?

Sleek Hypnotic Highlights Kit

As part of one of my presents, I was bought the Sleek Hypnotic Highlights Kit. I had mentioned this to Holly when we had been out shopping together and she obviously took note!

I love highlights as I think that they really finish your makeup off and helps your makeup go from alright to glowy and healthy. There are 4 shades in the palette which are Ecliptic, Hemisphere, Subsolar and Equinox. My favourite is Equinox which is the orange/golden shade in the palette and it really gives a glow. I makes me look radient and healthy for the whole day and keep finding myself picking this palette every morning.

This kit also comes with a matte liquid lipstick. This is in the shade 'Birthday Suit'. I have only tried this on to see the colour and was impressed with the application but will have to test the longevity of it.

I love this kit and would highly recommend this as it is really affordable and you get 5 amazing products inside.

Have you tried any products from Sleek?

Happy 2nd Birthday vintag3r0se!

It only seems like 5 minutes ago that I was writing my first post yet here I am now having my 106th post up and marking my second year of blogging!

I love how versatile my little part of the internet is and how I can publish anything I like. I've published my travel diaries, different products that I love, things to do, goals that I have set myself and its great to be able to look back and see how I have changed even in the 2 years.

I know that many people say that they enjoy sharing their life and others being able to have a little insight but I enjoy seeing what I have been able to achieve. I am able to see the different places I have been lucky enough to travel to.

I really do love this blog as it is something that I have been able to create from scratch and not knowing what to do and then being where I am now and having to build up numerous posts and having something that I am quite proud of.

Thanks to those of you that do come back each week and read me ramble on about different things!

Hope you have a lovely week and see you next Sunday for yet another post!

Maybelline Age Rewind Concealer

In terms of concealer, there is usually only one that I will think of and that is the 'Collection Lasting Perfection concealer'. I have been using it for years and use shades 1 and 2 for brightening and concealing redness.

At the end of last year, I decided that I was going to try the 'Maybelline Age Rewind concealer'. I'd heard many people talk very highly of it. I love the collection concealer but have always found it very thick for under the eyes and within seconds of putting it on, it had already creased under my eyes making me look even more tired than I did before.

I have it in the shade Light and began only using it under my eyes but have began using it on redness on my face as it doesn't give the cakey look gives a fresh concealed look. I have been using this under my eyes as a base to conceal the dark circles and then adding a little bit of the Collection concealer in the darkest spot to help brighten my eyes and help me to look more awake.

The only problem that I have with this is that the sponge applicator on the top can't be removed and cleaned. It is fine when you first get the product as the sponge is brand new and you can distribute the product out under your eyes and even blend with it but once you have been using it for a few weeks, the sponge is full of product and it can only be using to get the product of the tube.

Have you tried the Maybelline Age Rewind Concealer?

Weekend in London

Last weekend, I went to London with my boyfriend as part of celebrating my 18th. We travelled down on on Friday and stayed at the DoubleTree by Hilton Excel. I would really recommend the hotel! When we checked in, we were given a free warm cookie each and were able to go straight up to the room and unpack. The room was really nice and had a great view of London City Airport.

We tried to do as much sightseeing as we could without being too busy that we wouldn't appreciate what we were doing. There were a few things that we wanted to do which was go and see Charlie and the Chocolate Factory at the Theatre Royal, go and have a look around Madame Tussauds because I have never been and go up The Shard at night and have a view of the whole of London. One of my favourite things we did was going up the Shard. The experience is amazing and the view is incredible. The staff go above and beyond to ensure that you are enjoying the visit.

We did a fair amount go shopping, walking and tube hopping. The weekend was amazing and already want to go back and explore different areas of London but might do it in Summer when we have warmer weather.

Have you been to London before? What would you like to go and see?

Makeup Geek Eyeshadows

For Christmas, I'd asked for some Makeup Geek eyeshadows after everyone has mentioned how great they are. I had Homecoming, Shimma Shimma and Twilight from the standard shadow range as well as Grandstand and In the Spotlight from the foiled range. I also asked for the palette so that I could put all of them together and prevent them from getting lost/broken.

I had a quick look at them and was amazed by the quality of the colour in each of the shadows. The pans are a generous size so you defiantly get your moneys worth! I then went on to swatch them and couldn't believe the pigmentation. I used Grandstand, Shimma Shimma and Homecoming to create a bronze, shimmer eye look and instantly loved it. Homecoming is the powder eyeshadow version of On and On Bronze by Maybelline which is a creme shadow and is my all time favourite eye product.

I honestly prefer the Makeup Geek shadows than my MAC shadows that I currently have as they blend much easier and have better pigmentation. I will 100% be buying more of these shadows as I am so impressed by the quality to say how affordable they are!

Have you tried any products from Makeup Geek?

2016 Summary

I did a post last year summarise some of my favourites things that happened that year and wanted to do the same again this year. I think it helps you to realise that the good times are there and memories are being there. I feel this is a great way to be able to see what has happened this year in a quick, short post.

Anyway, enough of the rambling!

I hope you had a wonderful year and Happy New Year!
